8-Day Lemosho Route Trek – Kilimanjaro Climb

The 8-Day Lemosho Route is one of the most scenic, successful, and recommended routes for climbing entity[“place”,“Mount Kilimanjaro”,“Tanzania mountain”]. Starting from the western side of the mountain, the route passes through lush rainforest, beautiful moorlands, alpine desert, and glacier zones before reaching Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa at 5,895 meters.

Anchor 1

Day 1

Arrival in Arusha

· Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport or Arusha Airport

· Meet and greet by our professional mountain team

· Transfer to your hotel in Arusha for relaxation

· Evening briefing with your mountain guide covering route details, altitude awareness, safety precautions, and trekking preparation

· Full inspection of trekking equipment and opportunity to rent any missing gear

· Relax and prepare for the Kilimanjaro adventure

Day 2

Londorossi Gate to Mti Mkubwa Camp

· After breakfast, drive from Arusha to Londorossi Gate on the western side of Mount Kilimanjaro

· Complete registration and permit formalities

· Continue driving to the starting point of the trek

· Begin trekking through dense rainforest filled with giant trees, moss-covered vegetation, and tropical birdlife

· Enjoy the peaceful forest environment and chances to spot monkeys along the trail

· Arrive at Mti Mkubwa Camp (“Big Tree Camp”) for dinner and overnight

Day 3

Mti Mkubwa Camp to Shira 1 Camp

· Leave the rainforest behind and enter the moorland zone

· Trek through scenic valleys with spectacular views of the Shira Ridge and surrounding landscapes

· Enjoy panoramic views as vegetation gradually changes with altitude

· Lunch stop along the trail before continuing across the Shira Plateau

· Arrive at Shira 1 Camp in the afternoon

· Relax and enjoy beautiful sunset views over the mountain

Altitude: 2,750m to 3,500m Hiking Time: 5–6 Hours Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner Accommodation: Shira 1 Camp

Day 4

Shira 1 Camp to Shira 2 Camp

· After breakfast, continue trekking across the stunning Shira Plateau

· Enjoy breathtaking views of Kibo Peak and the surrounding volcanic landscapes

· This is a shorter trekking day designed to assist with acclimatization

· Take time to relax, hydrate, and adjust to the altitude

· Optional acclimatization walk around the camp area in the afternoon

· Dinner and overnight at Shira 2 Camp

Altitude: 3,500m to 3,850m Hiking Time: 3–4 Hours Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner Accommodation: Shira 2 Camp

Day 5

Shira 2 Camp to Barranco Camp via Lava Tower

· Begin a challenging but important acclimatization day

· Ascend gradually toward Lava Tower, a volcanic rock formation located at 4,630 meters

· Experience the effects of higher altitude while enjoying dramatic alpine desert scenery

· Stop for lunch near Lava Tower before descending to Barranco Camp

· Descending after climbing high helps improve acclimatization and increases summit success chances

· Arrive at Barranco Camp surrounded by giant senecio plants and spectacular cliffs

Altitude: 3,850m to 4,630m to 3,900m Hiking Time: 6–8 Hours Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner Accommodation: Barranco Camp

Day 6

Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp

· Start the day by climbing the famous Barranco Wall

· Although steep in some sections, the climb is safe and rewarding with incredible panoramic views

· Continue trekking through valleys and ridges with scenic views of glaciers and mountain landscapes

· Reach Karanga Valley and continue to Karanga Camp

· Afternoon rest and acclimatization before summit preparations continue

Altitude: 3,900m to 4,035m Hiking Time: 4–5 Hours Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner Accommodation: Karanga Camp

Day 7

Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp

· Continue ascending through alpine desert terrain toward Barafu Camp

· Enjoy views of Mawenzi Peak and Kibo Summit

· Arrive at Barafu Camp, the final base camp before summit attempt

· Early dinner followed by final summit briefing from your guide

· Rest early in preparation for the midnight ascent to Uhuru Peak

Altitude: 4,035m to 4,640m Hiking Time: 3–4 Hours Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner Accommodation: Barafu Camp

Day 8

Summit Day & Descent to Mweka Camp

· Wake up around midnight for the summit attempt

· Begin the steep ascent under the stars toward Stella Point

· Continue climbing along the crater rim to Uhuru Peak (5,895m), the highest point in Africa

· Witness a breathtaking sunrise over glaciers and the African plains

· Celebrate your achievement and take photos at the summit

· Descend back to Barafu Camp for a short rest and meal

· Continue descending through alpine desert and moorland to Mweka Camp

· Enjoy dinner and overnight rest after a long but rewarding day

Altitude: 4,640m to 5,895m to 3,100m Hiking Time: 10–14 Hours Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner Accommodation: Mweka Camp

Day 9

Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate & Return to Arusha

· After breakfast, continue descending through the rainforest to Mweka Gate

· Receive your official Kilimanjaro summit certificates

· Meet your driver and transfer back to Arusha

· Relax at your hotel or continue with your travel arrangements

To reserve the trip, we require 50 % down payment by bank transfer or credit card. The 2nd payment of 50 % has to be paid 3 months before the start of the trip.

 

Bank Transfer costs have to be covered by the payee. 3% credit card processing fee will apply to all card payments.
